由巴塞羅那微電子研究所(IMB-CNM,CSIC),加泰羅尼亞納米科學和納米技術研究所以及CIBER旗下的生物工程、生物材料和納米醫學單位(CIBER-BBN)開發新腦機接口技術,並與August Pi i Sunyer 生物醫學研究所(IDIBAPS)合作進行大腦記錄。該技術捨棄原有電極陣列方式繪錄大腦的活動,而改採以一創新的石墨烯電晶體基礎的架構,在將大腦信號傳輸到接收器之前就地放大大腦的信號,成功接收0.1Hz以下的大腦信息,克服了過去僅能偵測特定頻率的腦波。
